2021 Pacina - Rosato

$79.00

Producer | Pacina

Region | Tuscany

Varieties | Sangiovese

Alcohol | 14.0%

A traditional Tuscan rosato made from Sangiovese using the salasso method, with the bled juice fermenting over the skins of Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia del Chianti. After a short maceration in concrete, the wine is pressed into barrel for at least ten months of ageing. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, with only a small addition of sulphur, it is held back in the cellar until ready to drink. While beautifully suited to enjoy now, it also has the structure to age gracefully.

Generous and full of character, with juicy red fruit, lively acidity and a savoury, saline edge. Rich in texture yet balanced by freshness, this is a rosato with real depth and structure, made to be enjoyed now or given further time in the cellar.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Pãcina is a magic place. Named after the Etruscan god of wine, it is located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, along the ancient road connecting Arezzo and Siena. Here Giovanna Tiezzi and Stefano Borsa are carrying on a 1000-year old, local tradition of food and wine production. Their property includes vines, olive groves and woodlands. Lucky enough to have a site that doesn’t need anything, Giovanna and Stefano produce wines with little or no intervention. Their wines reflect the unique soils and microclimate found on their vineyard. Pãcina’s wines are delicate, pretty and floral, but with great structure and strength.
