2023 Montecorneo 570 - Tilt

$43.00

Producer | Montecorneo 570

Region | Umbria

Variety | Montepulciano

Alcohol | 13%

The grapes are manually harvested in the coolest hours over the course of a week, then given a direct and delicate pressing to capture colour and freshness. Fermentation starts in stainless steel and continues in concrete, with the fermenting masses refreshed with new must before being moved back to steel to rest through winter. The result is a luminous, savoury rosé with notes of wild berries, citrus, and herbs. Crisp, dry, and irresistibly drinkable.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Montecorneo is a small family-run company located in Sant’Andrea d’Agliano, in the province of Perugia. The area was marked, in the Gregorian land registry, found in the state archives, under the name of Montecorneo. 570, on the other hand, is the house number attributable to the family of Maria Cristina Ceccucci and Fausto Gallina, who run the company together with their children Sara and Federico. Starting from the love for the land and for the fruits of nature, a wine project was born with solid foundations in the past, but totally projected into the future. disused, it was recovered at the beginning of 2000, and then managed to shine as an all-round receptive activity in 2010. The philosophy of Montecorneo follows the principles of organic agriculture in the management of the vineyard. All wines do not follow an established oenological protocol, they do not add ingredients to the grapes, but accompany them in the transformation in each vintage. The must is the mirror of the soil. They create the ideal setting to make grapes become wine, leaving them the only protagonist. Mainly native varieties such as Montepulciano, Grechetto, and Merlot are grown on soils mainly composed of limestone, sands and clay. The resulting wines are able to excite and tell the best wine essence of the green heart of Italy.
