Venetian Dinner with Daniele Piccinin at Brico Melbourne

  • Brico Melbourne 555 Nicholson Street Carlton North, VIC, 3054 Australia (map)

Brico hosts a Venetian Dinner with Italian winemaker Daniele Piccinin

This November, Brico is privileged to welcome winemaker Daniele Piccinin from San Giovanni Ilarione, a small village in the Lessinia foothills northeast of Verona, Italy. Brico’s head chef Simon Ball-Smith and his team have written a Venetian menu to mark the occasion and compliment Daniele’s captivating and pure wines from the chalky slopes of the Veneto.

Here he farms Durella, Chardonnay and Pinot Nero surrounded by woodlands and meadows that form a living, breathing ecosystem. Today, Piccinin’s wines are recognised among the most expressive of Italy’s natural wine movement and he has helped re-establish Durella as one of Italy’s great native grapes—capable of producing wines with vitality, structure and longevity. His estate ‘Muni’, is a true expression of his belief that the best wines are made not by controlling nature but by listening to it.

Daniele and his importer Mattia (from Vino Mito, a Sydney-based Italian wine importer) will be with us at the restaurant, offering a rare opportunity to meet and get to know one of the foremost progressive leaders in Italian wine, alongside a special one-off menu from the Brico kitchen.
